About Garden Library
At its core, Garden Library is about sharing the passion you have for your garden and inviting others into your world. By helping those around to you understand what’s in your garden, it starts conversations, strengthens bonds and encourages connection. It is our mission to open up your garden to those around you in a way that keeps it beautifully organised too.
Founding Journey
Hey! I’m Nathan, the founder of Garden Library. I’m a dog-loving, music-loving, Melbourne-based robotics engineer, who loves to get outside and experience the joys of nature.

But as an engineer, I can’t help but solve problems…

See, during lockdown I found myself regularly getting in trouble from my partner for harvesting the wrong herbs and veggies, because while I love gardening, I sometimes struggle to tell the difference between certain plants… (Surely, I’m not the only one, right...?)

So, after ripping up half the coriander thinking it was parsley and then proceeding to up-root baby leeks instead of spring onions, I figured it was time to find a solution!

I wanted something to label and organise the garden, but I didn’t just want those labels you get with your seedlings. No! I wanted to make something that would be durable in all weather conditions, regardless of where in Australia they were. I also wanted them to stand out and be aesthetically pleasing.

So, after months of design and testing, Garden Library was born.
